Receptions for Research: The Greg Olsen Foundation

Keeping it local: Charlotte-based restaurant chain gives record donation to Greg Olsen’s HEARTest Yard

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Greg Olsen’s foundation is raising record-breaking money to support children and families affected by congenital heart defects.

On Monday, Charlotte-based Showmars donated $115,000 to The HEARTest Yard, an organization founded by the former Panthers tight end. The HEARTest Yard calls the donation the largest in the 10-year history of the organization and Showmars’ 5K race.

Olsen’s son TJ received a heart transplant at just 8 years old, prompting the Panthers great to start the foundation.

Olsen, who now is an NFL analyst for Fox Sports, was joined by a local heart family and Levine Children’s Hospital physicians for the presentation.
