THE HEARTest Yard established in 2013, is the first and only family support and service program for pediatric cardiovascular patients and their families in the Carolinas.
The HEARTest Yard is a program under Receptions for Research: The Greg Olsen Foundation, which supports families of children with congenital heart disease with in-home nursing care and comprehensive medical services at The HEARTest Yard Congenital Heart Center.
Inspired by his mother Susan’s courageous battle with breast cancer in 2001, Greg Olsen founded Receptions for Research: The Greg Olsen Foundation. Susan’s unwavering strength and dedication to her family, attending every event and cheering from the bleachers even during chemotherapy, left a profound impact on Greg. Witnessing her journey, Greg was motivated to ensure that everyone facing cancer has a second chance at life, just as his mother did. It’s in her honor that this foundation was born, dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.
In honor of the foundation’s history, Greg and Kara Olsen continue to donate to cancer research and support services through their personal philanthropic program titled “Receiving Hope.”
Family is at the center of everything we do and what moves us in supporting those with heart children.
